Our Story

Branches of Brilliance began with a vision: create a future where every Black student in North Carolina has the tools, support, and confidence to succeed academically, personally, and professionally. Founded by youth leader Rwamba Munene, our nonprofit is rooted in the belief that when potential is nurtured, brilliance will flourish.

We are committed to increasing literacy, raising academic performance, and fostering leadership skills among students in grades 3–8. Through innovative programs, academic mentorship, and advocacy for equitable education, we aim to raise proficient testing scores by 10% by the year 2045.

But our mission goes beyond academics. We believe in sparking curiosity by exposing students to a wide variety of career paths and equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate higher education and sustainable careers.

Every workshop, every mentorship session, and every opportunity we provide is a step toward a future where our students thrive not just in school, but in life.

At Branches of Brilliance, we’re not just planting seeds of potential: we’re growing futures.
